| Only Eats When We Are With Her In The Kitchen We have a full breed Yorkie just over 2 years old now at around 10 pounds and our best friend was the breeder. Fully healthy otherwise by the vet and even just everyday watching her. One thing we've noticed is that she will only eat her food out of her bowl, (which we always place in the kitchen) when we are around. So every time we enter the kitchen she follows us in there (as she follows us everywhere me or my girlfriend go), and nibbles on her food. Doesn't really eat any other time. Anyone elses do this and is this normal behaviour from a Yorkie? She is normal in every other way. Maybe this is just a one off I don't know.? |

| Try staying in the kitchen with her when you put her food down, see if she eats it all at one time. Some yorkies do not like to be alone for any period of time. My adopted boy has a healthy appetite, he is so anxious to eat he doesn't care about anything but eating lol. My boy is fed at 7AM again at 5PM. Also depends on how hungry they are. If she's not all that hungry she will just pick regardless if you are in the kitchen. Give it a try by staying with her. If she eats it all then you know she needs company, if not I wouldn't worry about it, dogs will eat when they are hungry. Good luck

| I had a cat that would eat only if we were stroking her back. Animals do have their own little likes.

| Mickey is 5 and will only eat if I am in the same room as him. That means I move the bowl a lot.

| Some dogs (and cats) are just social eaters. We get them sometimes in the vet clinic I work at and someone will have to stand there with them so they will eat and some of them even have to be petted so they will eat.

| My little one will grab a mouthful of kibble from the bowl in the kitchen and bring it to where I am, empty out onto the floor and eat one by one ... Will also do that with scrambled egg, anything in fact. Sometimes she gets bored and will just stay at the bowl and eat it but her preference is to eat it with me. |
