| does your yorkie "chew" or "swallow" ? i'm concerned that as bunjee grows bigger, he's starting to swallow his puppy kibbles as opposed to chewing then swallowing. does your yorkie swallow kibbles or chews kibbles? is there some way to encourage chewing? |

| Both Wosie will do both. I feed her two different kinds of kibbles mixed, one is bigger than the other. She will chew the bigger one, and swallow the smaller. I think this comes from ancient times when dogs had to eat quickly to make sure they got some of the food, and it's called "bolting" I think. They do digest it, per what comes out on the other end, lol, so I don't think it's a problem.

| You could maybe get bigger kibble that forces him to chew.

| "The Toto" is a prissy little chewer/nibbler! She even chews her cottage cheese! Don't know why, but she does.

| Tucker chews...and chews and chews. He is on this little tiny hard food and he takes each piece across the room and chews it like 10 times before he comes back for the next piece. It takes him forever to eat!

| swallows most of the time, occasionally swallows. but that's ok with me because his food is teeny tiny that it won't do any harm. heck its so small he can't even choke on it.

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | Both of my girls chew...although sometimes Magic will swallow a piece but we always seem those later, as she will normally throw them up if she doesn't chew it well!!
