YT 500 Club Member | Fresh Pet Vital Dog Food So Sammie has been on Blue Buffalo since I had him., Grain free and he is still very itchy. I just started to give him Freshpet Vital in the tube moist beef and bision and he stopped itching. The problem is that it does not come in a hard kibble. There kibble is semi hard. So that will not be good for his teeth. People that make there own dogs food what do you give them thats hard to help the teeth? |

| I feed one of my pups mostly wet/canned food and her teeth are nice and white without any build-up. The other pup gets mostly kibble and has more gunk on his teeth that is still there even with brushing. I think it's largely genetic. The best thing you can do is brush your pup's teeth regularly regardless of what type of food you feed. We also sometimes give edible chews like the Get Naked ones and the pups also chew on Nylabones...not sure how much those chews actually help keep teeth clean but the brushing will make a big difference. |

YT 500 Club Member | Thanks, I believe a lot of it is genetic. It proves it when you say one gets only moist and his teeth are great. I know people that never floss and have no cavaties. I floss and brush twice a day and have 2 cavaties everytime I go to the dentist! |
