| Sleep concerns Hi all! I am not sure if this is the right place for this post but here goes. I will bring home my sweet Daisy Mae on October 5th maybe a little later. Anyway, my concern is that me and my husband have different sleep schedules. He works from home over night and I work during the day. We want Daisy crated during the night in the living Kitchen area but my husband is up and about in that area all night. Will this be an issue for sleeping for my sweet Daisy. I don't want her to have poor sleep habits or not a restful nights sleep? What are your thoughts. Thanks so much! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | My guess is that unless she is crate trained, she will have a very hard time settling down w/ someone up and about. Is she crate trained?

| Why not put the crate in your room at night? That is what we do. We started with having her crate in the living room, but when my husband worked in the morning he would always wake her up getting ready for work so we started putting her in our room and have had no problems with her sleeping in. |

| She will have to be crate trained..will she get confused as to being in her crate In our bedroom at night and then at times during the day? My husband refuses to let her roam the house without supervision once we get her. |

I don't think she will be confused. When we got Lexi we would have the crate out in the living room during the day for when we couldn't supervise her and then we would just bring the crate into the bedroom at night. Now that she is potty trained I bought a second larger crate for the living room for her to play in and when I need to keep her away from something (furniture delivery, etc) and the one in the bedroom stays there for bedtime. | |

| I think it's unfair for her to be taken from all she knows and then put in a crate in a scary new place in a room all by herself. I think her crate needs to be in your bedroom where she can see you. Getting a new puppy is like getting a new baby. You have to be prepared to not get much sleep for awhile. She may do great or it may take a few days but I think it would not be very nice to put her in a different room.

| You can use a play pen during the day.

| Thanks everyone! for the advice! Being first time owner of a puppy is pretty scary to me right now. |
