| Stella and Chewy I went to one of my favorite pet boutiques last week to return the Logic kibble I had bought for Ian...he kept throwing it up! I asked if they carried Solid Gold or Wellness Core, and was told no. The nutritionist there said that neither of them were good foods! We chatted for a while, and he suggested Stella and Chewy's freeze dried patties. I bought a small sample container, fed about a half teaspoon of it, in a little water with his regular kibble, and he loved it. I plan to use a little of it every other night as a topper. Who else uses this product? Do you keep the unused patties in the frige, freezer, or pantry? What do you think about it, and how do you serve it?

| I feed S&C (freeze dried & frozen) & LOVE it! I also feed them Primal. Both excellent foods & company w/awesome customer service. Mu guys are fed 100% premade raw food. The freeze dried are shelf stable, so keep sealed in a dark dry cool place, in the pantry is fine. I keep their food in an air tight container.

YT Graphic Artist Donating Member | My guys have had the freeze dried patties. I kept them in the pantry. Now they are on Fromm, and are doing very well, so I will keep them on that, but they quite enjoyed the Stella & Chewy patties, and had no issues with them.

| Since it's 'raw' and freeze dried, I put his in the fridge. I'm a little nervous about storing it in the pantry.

| Ian was eating Fromm a while ago, but he picked up a few extra pounds even though he was eating his regular amount, and getting a lot of exercise. He enjoyed it, though.

| Peanut loves Stella and Chewys. I have used the freeze dried- I stored it in my pantry and all was fine. Make sure you are using the correct amount of water. Since it is freeze dried the moisture is taken out. I also have been giving Peanut the Carnivore Crunch, which Peanut loves!! I will crunch one up for a topper. YT Graphic Artist Donating Member | Really? That is interesting. So far all three of mine have maintained their weights.

| If it's already been re-hydrated, you can store the left overs in the fridge for up to 3 days. Not sure about keeping the freeze dried in the fridge tho...something to do w/moisture maybe? You can email them & ask, they're very fast @ replying.

| Are the bone fragments in the freeze dried patties safe? When you fed only Stella's, how much did you give your baby? Will storing the patties in the fridge alter anything? Thanks!

| That's great news. There was a post where several members noticed their baby gaining a little weight from Fromm. Every baby is different. I wanted Ian to stay on Fromm for a long time.

| Just did a live chat with them, and 'Anthony' said that it was safe to store in the fridge, or freezer without altering the integrity of the product.

| 'Ann' with S&C said that the bones were safe, as well. I still rub the pieces between my thumb and middle finger and remove anything that feels hard, or sharp.

I did run into a bigger than expected sharp piece of bone (about 2-3mm) when I crumbled the freeze dried. I threw it out bc it was sharp, it happened 2 x's in the past year.

| Stella and Chewy I also use this dog food for Magellan. He was getting bored with the food I was feeding him so my guy at the pet store suggested the frozen patties. He happened to have trial size (6 in a bag) so I purchased a bag. Gelly ate it with no problem. After the beef sample, I went and bought the duck and he likes that too. I give him 1/2 a patty with an 1/8 of a cup Royal Canin. As far as storing, since it was already frozen, I keep the bag in the freezer and only take out 1 patty the day before so it can defrost for the next day feeding. |
