| My yorkie has developed bumps on his right corner of his lip My poor baby i have eliminated corn wheat and soy and any thing that has chicken added to it, i was giving him joint treats for his knees and skin and coat treats to help with his allergies i just threw them all away and now just going to give him his dry food I feed him Natures balance limited diet, vet said he was reacting to something in regards to his lip? Anyone have any idea what might have caused it treats??? Or could it be the new sawed we put down in our yard??? Help im so worried but dont particularly trust vets know everything hes not sick hes eating playing etc so i do believe its an allergy or something, any helpful advice would be appreciated...... |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Some dogs will get pimples - do they look like pimples? Or are they just hard little bumps? You said you were already treating for allergies, do you know what he's allergic to? It's really hard to guess what these are from. If he has allergies, I'd highly recommend seeing a Vet Dermatologist....they can help you WAY more than a generalist.

| They look like dried blisters very weird i have had him 7 yrs and he has food allergies but never has he had this. Hes eating and is his normal self. I cut his hair back to make sure the area is kept clean and the air can get at it, its drying up and he isnt scratching at it but im very concerned and will look into a pet doctor that deals with skin conditions is it expensive? |

A vet derm will definitely be more expensive, but believe me, you'll absolutely spend LESS in the long run if you go to one early. Take me as an example -- for months on end I was going to my generalist vet for allergy help - spent HUNDREDS, easily and quickly! Then, I went to the Derm and was finally and instantly on the right path as of the 1st appointment. A first appt will often be around $75-125, with follow ups usually being less than that. It's SO worth it though. Had I gone to a Derm right away, I would've saved hundreds and hundreds of dollars. Quote:
