| vitamins? So the breeder I am getting my puppy from said that yorkie's are prone to bad teeth and said they can have teeth issues as they get older. She recommended giving them vitamins that help with that. She said she always gives her yorkie's vitamins and it really helps with their teeth and also helps keep their hair shiny and keeps them healthier. Has anyone heard of giving them vitamins or does anyone here give vitamins to their yorkies? Last edited by RachelJ; 04-01-2014 at 06:23 PM. |

| If you plan to feed a commercial diet (kibble, canned, pre-made raw and so on), vitamins are not necessary. Commercial diets are carefully balanced to deliver the nutrients a dog needs. More is not always better, for dogs or humans. The best way to care for teeth is to brush and to have vet dental cleanings as needed. I should add that genetics plays the biggest role in how a Yorkie's teeth will fare.

| If your feeding dog food it should have everything in it your dog needs. The best thing for teeth is regular brushing and even then some dogs still need to get dentals.
