| Patellar Luxation Hello, One of my yorkie will be turning 2 year old in march and I just found out that she has patellar lunation in both knees and will need surgery. I bought her from TSA LA GI yorkies because I heard she is a good breeder. I know patellar lunation is a genetic problem, should I contact the breeder? When I bought Zoey from her I was hoping that I wouldn't have this kind of problems. I love her very much and I wish she didn't have to go through this…

| What does the health guarantee in your contract say? Some breeders will guarantee against high grade luxating patellas but not sure if Glenda does. Read your contract

| Make sure you are getting advise about surgery from and Orthopedic surgeon and not just a regular vet. Is the LP causing her pain?

| I am just not a fan of doing the surgery unless they are showing problems because sometimes they will go there whole life without problems. Did an orthopedic surgeon say she needed surgery or was it a regular vet?

What grade did your vet say your dog has? Luxating patellas are so common In toy breeds that's its hard to completely rid your lines of the Problem. I personally have my dogs patellas OFA certified but know its hard to get all perfect patellas all the time. I do guarantee against high-grade luxating patellas requiring surgery but not all breeders do. If a breeder is producing a lot of grade 3 and 4s then they definitely need to re-evaluate their breeding program in my opinion.

| Was just a regular vet, that is actually a friend of mine. I'm going to take her in an orthopedist. I always freak out. They are so little and my babies I just worry to much. My mom have a Poodle that had that her whole life whitout causing major issues, but know she is 14 and she surfers with the pain but is too old for a surgery. I just don't want Zoey to suffer from pain when she gets older...

| Yeah. She actually had a dental last year, but she has heard problems and they don't want to keep putting her under anesthesia... Well my mom's and the poodle live in Brazil maybe there is a little different
