| Microchipping.... Hey all.... I am finally going to get my little one chipped. I have been holding off because he was so malnourished and skinny that he had no fat where they put the chip in. Anyways...he wears a buddy belt as a harness. Do you think it's ok for him to wear it right after chipping or should I give him a few days to heal. I know it's only the size of a piece of rice, but he's tiny himself. |

| Not really sure but one of my pups was hanging out by the time I got home from the vet's so I had to go back. Now I always worry they have come out and I don't know it.

| OMG!! If the vet does not insert the needle far enough into the sub-q tissue, the chip will certainly come right back out! When it is inserted far enough under the dkin, the "track" just closes down as the needle is removed, sealing the chip in place. I do not think it is necessary, but just personally, I do not put anything on top of the area that would rub or even present the possibility of maybe creating an irritation at the chip site....but I think that is really just me and my mind. I would give it 24 hours before I put a harness over the area.....may not be necessary, but rather safe than sorry. Last edited by Yorkiemom1; 12-11-2013 at 10:09 AM. |

| WOW this should never happen. Apparently who ever did the chip didn't do it properly. Sounds like the needle wasn't inserted far enough.
