| Hair stops growing as they age? My baby yorkie is turning 7 years old next month and I've notice his hair is growing very slowly. The last time he got groomed was sometime this summer, June or July, and his hair was not that long back then. Ever since the last groom, his hair doesn't seem to be growing at all. When he was younger, it would get as long as 10 inches and we get him groomed. He is mostly Black and Tan on his legs and face. We got him from a breeder and we fear the worst. And we did not get to see the parents. Could this be just a sign of getting older? |

| In the colder months, their hair grows slower than it would in the warmer months (just like people)...as long as he's not losing hair & his skin looks healthy, I wouldn't be too concerned. Since the last groom in June/July, how much hair has grown?

| Thanks for the reply. I can honestly say, it pretty much looks the same and it doesnt seem to be growing at all. His hair isn't too thick or fine, but in between. Could it be the food? He was on California Natural, but with all this recall, we switched to Blue 2 months ago. |

| It could be just something small but it also could be a symptom of hypothyroidism and the age is right for that to pop up.
