| Blue Buffalo Well, I did it again. I tried yet another flavor of BB on Huey. He has been eating Freedom for a year and has done fabulously on it, but I keep trying to introduce other flavors for variety. We first tried adding Blue Basics small breed Turkey and potato. Started vomiting occasionally like when he used to eat Purina One, so stopped feeding that. After a few months, tried again, this time with Wilderness red meat small breed. Same results. Last week bought original BB recipe, natural fish and sweet potato. Oh my! Besides vomiting last night and having horrible fish breath, he is trying to chew his feet off! I am gonna take all open bags to work and give them away. I'm done torturing poor Huey. He will get one flavor only from now on. He can have carrots and green beans and blueberries and cheese for treats and variety, and he seems to do fine with all the BB treats we have given him, but no more kibble changes. Poor baby. I wonder how long it will take to metabolize out of his system so he is not itchy anymore.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Poor baby. I'm so sorry he is itchy. Can you give him some Benadryl to help while you are switching the food back? Rhett couldn't tolerate the fish BB, either. No itching, but massive stomach issues.

| I thought about benadryl, but (bad yorkie momma, and a nurse, no less) I have no baby benadryl and since I worked all night and then had a couple of bloody Mary's after my 14 hour shift, I am not going to drive to get any. I will get some tomorrow to keep here, but be seems to be ok right now, as long as he is wandering about and playing. It is only when he lays down to take a nap that he seems to realize he is so itchy. His daddy is stopping at petsmart after work to get his regular food. I think I will ask him to pick some up on the way home.

YT 2000 Club Member | dog If he is itchy, get him some dog food with a venison base. I just bet that will stop his itching. Believe me, I spent $1,000 going to the dermatology vet . He said put the dog on a venison base dog food and she got better. I hope this helps. Itching is so aggravating. I used Natures Receipe but I would look for another food better quality without the methidione sulfate in it. I hope this helps. |

| Poor Huey! My philosophy is not to mess with success. My boys have been eating one flavor of one food brand for most of their 4 and 5 years. When I tried to switch Max around, he wanted his regular food back. They like surprise treats, but they also want their same food. Our dog before the Yorkies ate the same thing with very little variation for all 19 years of her life.

| He has a brand new bag of his bb Freedom & won't change again. I did get him some venison treats. His itching quickly seemed to resolve yesterday and he's slept well with very little paw chewing tonight. I will be buying some baby benadryl today. I have always kept a huge bottle of benadryl pills in the house but didn't think about needing some for Huey at some point.
