| A flea!!! I've never had to deal with fleas before. I just saw a flea on Cherry. I couldn't get it as Cherry was being super squirmy. She's too young for flea medication right? I'm assuming she got it from the vet's office?? Dorrie has never had a single flea before! She's almost 7 weeks. What do I do at this age?

| Capstar is for puppies 4 weeks and older and 2 lbs or heavier. That being said, every thing with puppies always revolves abound the puppies general health. Check with your vet to be sure.

| A flea comb is a good weapon against fleas. Combing through your dog's fur with a flea comb will help you to find and eliminate them. Many times you don't know they are there because they are so close to the skin. The flea comb finds them out. I use one every time I bring Gracie in from a walk. |

| Dawn dish soap will kill fleas. It won't prevent them, but will kill them. I think the blue, original formula is preferred.

| Well, it is something that needs to start at a very young age anyway, fleas or not. Sometimes doing a gentle run through while they are napping can get the job done fairly quickly. A Yorkie is going to need regular grooming all it's life. Starting young is the best way to get them used to it. |

Same with baths. If they don't get them very often they really freak out when you do it. The more you do something with them the more familiar they will become and more accepting. I can't say Gracie loves it but she know she is going to get groomed at least once a day and lets me do it. She knows she gets a bath every week and at least accepts it Treats at the end of each session really helps with getting the attitude to change. | |
