| liver shunt Humm I'm trying to think if moose has been doing that though at 9wks I think she likes to go to her pad and get praise but seriously, Lil Bear my 6yr old yorkie did a lot of peeing much like what you are saying, does her pee look orange in color. I know when lil bear started doing the excessive peeing thing I noticed her pee got an orange tint and smelt VERY strong. I ended up taking her to the vet and she did a test and found out lil bear has a minor liver shunt so now lil bear is on low protein vet food and is doing fine. However it could just be a bladder infection. I would keep a close eye on her. Live shunts usually have seziers sp when the get worse, besides the excessive peeing lil bear got sick to her tummy and just felt blah. |

| nope! it isn't orange or smelly. Hopefully its just because she drinks a lot of water. Appetite is good, etc. |

| well that's good to here. I guess I'm just a worried yorkie mom anythim I talk to someone who is haveing pee issues that's my first thought esp since I was working for my vets when she told me lil bear had the shunt and for the next couple of weeks I think 3 or 4 other yorkies had come in and was diagnosed with the same problem, unfortuantly a couple had bed shunts. |

| Hi, My yorkie had pee problems and has drank alot of water, I took her to the vet and he ran tests and said she had cushings disease. This was 4 years ago I am not sure about the age cushings can attack, but keep an eye on your baby if she drinks alot more over than a normal time span please ask about the cushings! I don't mean to scare you, it can be she's a thirsty little girl. update: cushings only attacks older dogs (tilly was 6 years old) now 10 so please forgive me if I had cause you any alarm. tilly's & sami's mom Last edited by jbarile; 03-15-2005 at 07:30 PM.
