| Won't Sleep Without Me Rosie will not sleep without me. I try to get up to do my things once she's fast asleep, but she gets up as soon as I get up. Is this separation anxiety? She cries because she's tired and wants me to go to bed. Any suggestions on what I should do? She does sleep with me because she cries when she doesn't. Anyways, I g2g. She's crying because she wants to go to sleep. |

Have you tried putting a soft toy between you and covering them with a small blanket so when you move she is still warm | |

| She won't let me put anything between us. She will climb over it and come as close as she can to me. Also, when she's playing on her own and I get up, she stops playing and follows me. She is behind me all the time. Don't get me wrong, I love it when she snuggles with me and wants me by her side, but I have my own stuff that I need to do. |

| My yorkie does it also However, eventually, if she's tired enough, she'll curl into a ball on some clothes (or whatever is soft near me) when I am working or doing chores. She whines at me but I just ignore it if I have stuff to do. It's hard to ignore her, don't get me wrong, but when I have stuff do.....I have to do it! I don't know if that helps you, maybe your little baby is a little more stubborn. |

| Hey That reminds me of my younger yorkie. She follows me everywhere and when she is tired she will sit at the gate or go upstairs and wait for me. Did u get her younger than 6 weeks? If so, she most likely has used u as an imprint for her mother. Whikle it sounds adorable, I know how u feel. Putting something u have worn on the floor next to u as u work sometimes does the trick. Hope this helps! |

| Thanks for the replies. I will try to put my shirt next to her and see if that works. I got her at 7 weeks so that might be the reason why she does this. |

| Same thing Baby does the SAME thing. When I'm at the computer she'll sleep by my feet. As soon as I get up, she follows me around the house. Even into the bathroom! It is cute, but sometimes you do need to get stuff done. You know what she also does? God forbid I'm on the phone too long...she gets jealous! Maybe when she gets older she'll be more independent (Baby is 16 weeks old). Good luck!!

| we used to sleep with toby in the bed, and we do still take naps together. when we do.. he can't get close enough.. he nudges my arm with his head until i lift it up, and he gets right in my nook(armpit) and props his head on my shoulder.. so damn cute, but i started to realize that i don't get a good night sleep when he's there, b/c he's moving around, and i'm afraid to roll over on him. so now we put him in his crate, and lock the door. we give him blanket and a few of his favorite stuffed animals. if he whines, we ignore him, unless we think he needs to pee. sounds like a tough situation with your little one. i would suggest the piece of clothing.. a crate.. and some tough love. if the crying is too much to bear, try putting the crate in another room. she'll fall asleep eventually (we hope) and it'll be hard to do, but in the long run, it'll teach her to be more independent. i guess it's nice.. you're her mama, and she loves you!! |

| we were told, and this worked to get a baby bear that is at a toys r us that has a heart beat, then take a heating pad. You put the heating pad on the bear so that it becomes warm (lowest temp possible) and then you turn on the heartbeat of the bear. once you have your baby asleep you can get up and move and never be missed.

Donating YT 14K Club Member | I call Gracie my velcro baby and she's going on 2 years this March. I just think some yorkies need to see their master at all times. Now, she doesn't have to be in my lap every waking minute...but she just needs to be near me.

| My two do the same thing it drives me crazy sometimes but I would miss it if they werent following me around all the time. When I get in the shower they sit right by the door until I get out just so they can lick my wet feet. They are like this with my hubby too though they love to cuddle up right next to him all the time.

| Don't get me wrong, I love it. I want her to be used to not sleeping next to me for her own good. I am just worried because we will be going to Canada this summer and I will either have to leave her with a friend or board her. I don't want her to have a hard time without me. Will she grow out of this by then? Btw, I have tried leaving my shirt by her but that didn't work. I will try the clock or bear and see if that works. |

| My advice is to think twice about boarding these little ones. I have someone come in and play with them, etc, 2-3 times a day. If that is not feasible, leave her with someone you definite ly trust. My little one has separation anxiety- I know this sounds crazy but they can make themselves sick. |

| Thanks for the advice. I'll be sure to find a friend that won't mind taking care of her. I usually go out of town about once a year, so I won't leave her that often. It is going to kill me the whole time I'm away. I think I'm getting more attached to her than she is to me |

| PLEASE beware of boarding, that is how we lost our first Yorkie baby because they are just like little kids, but do not understand like a child when you are leaving. I can be gone for 1 hour and 30 seconds and maggie does not understand the difference. Just find a good friend that you can trust and have them Yorkie sit. Just do like we do, they know that a GOOD gift will be coming home from the trip for them. Hope that it works out for you and your precious one.
