| Nervous about surgery... On Monday we are planning to get Anakin neutered and his teeth cleaned. We've waited so long because he is about 3.5 pounds and after discussing with my previous vet we decided it would be best to wait. He is 4 years old and we are taking him in on Monday. I called today to set up the appointment and had some questions and was able to talk to my vet over the phone to get exact details of what will take place. I will drop him off at about 8am and they will perform the pre-op lab work to check all his levels (in house), once they get the levels and they are within range, they will insert his catheter (IV) give him a pre anesthetic (Propofol) while he is hooked up to ekg, spo2 (oxygen saturation monitor), and blood pressure monitor. once he is lightly sedated they intubate him and administer Isoflo (IsoFlurane) for the procedure. (From what I researched this is one of the two medications recommended for small dogs.) Anything else anyone can think of? Bella will be next, but I figure I could only handle one at a time.

| It sounds good to me. I would probably have the blood work done prior to the day of surgery to make sure all levels are okay beforehand. That way f you need any subsequent blood work, you will have the time and not go through the worrying you are feeling right now prior to surgery. I hope all goes well. I never got used to anesthesia with any one of my babies, but they always did well, even when there were some medical issues.

| The only other thing I would say is to have all your post surgery supplies ready (onsie or soft e-collar, pedialyte, chicken broth, medicine dropper or syringe, can pumpkin, mineral oil). I needed all of that with Mandie...mostly because she wouldn't eat or drink on her own for the first 24 to 36 hours and because the meds made her constipated. Also, remember we are here to keep you company and support you during it

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Keeping positive thoughts for Anakin. I know it is always so nerve wracking when they have to be put under. My Cali goes in tomorrow for a removal of a growth on her lip and a dental. I can't wait to get it behind us.

| Anakin is back home We just picked Anakin up from the vet. They said he did great and they kept him a little longer because he is so small. The ended up doing three incisions because they said one of the testicles migrated up, but they did get both. They also cleaned his teeth and they look wonderful. I of coarse am using my soft collar instead of the plastic ones and he seems more comfortable. He is still a little wobbly but he ate a freeze dried patty and had a little water and is resting on the couch with us. Bella is so happy to see her brother but she is resting on he bed, so he can get some rest.

| Thank you, he is doing well. He doesn't want to be left alone so it looks like it will be a cuddle night.
