| Childrens Benedyrl? So, Zoey has been itching and biting at herself like crazy. She has an appointment with the vet on Monday for the itching, and the squishy lump I found in her back breast They told me in the meantime to give her benedryl (1mg for every 1lb) so I guess Zoey will get 10mg? I bought her liquid children's Benedryl and all they had was Cherry flavored and Bubble gum flavor. I bought the cherry flavor..is this okay?

| It is fine but remember ml's and mg's are different.

| Yes, it is ok to give liquid benadryl if your pup is rubbing it's head on the floor, a lot. Your vet is telling you the truth but you do not want to give it too much. Double check with your vet about transferring mg's to ml's so you'll be safe. It works wonders.

| It's Milligrams, so I'm guessing milligrams=mg. The syring I bought is mL, so would I give her 1/2 a tsp? or just 1mL? Sorry, it's a bit confusing

| Yes, it is confusing. No, not 1ml or 1/2 tsp. The vet should have given you the liquid dose. Liquid Benadryl is 12.5mg/5ml. So each ml is 2.5mg. 5ml is 1 tsp. 10mg needed, so that is 4/5 tsp. Didclaimer: I am not a vet and am horrible at math.

| Make sure if you dog is on any kind of medication you ask the vet first.
