| 10 Months Old & ready to switch foods Hi all, Enzo is now 10 months old and has been eating RC Yorkie Puppy. He is getting close to the bottom of the bag and can now move up to the next step. He's a picky little eater, and I'm wondering if this would be a good time to switch/transition to another kibble brand. I've heard good things about Orijen & Acana, both available at our local PetValu. Can someone tell me what size the kibble is in either of these brands? I got a sample of the GO brand and they seem too big for his little mouth. He usually eats homemade at supper, but I really want him to "like" a good quality kibble!

| There's a lot of ALS (all life stages), it should be fine to switch. Not sure if Acana changed their kibble size, but I used to feed my guys Grasslands a couple of years ago & the kibble was pretty big. I had to cut it for them bc it was so dense & hard. Momo had a hard time chewing it, he has really small teeth & mouth. I got so sick of cutting them w/scissors, we switched. Here's a great thread about kibble sizes & pics. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ce-thread.html

| Bella and Sprout are both on Orijen Regional Red Gypsy is on Orijen Puppy I will never feed them anything other than Orijen except perhaps supplementing them with a homemade raw diet a couple days a week (still considering that). Their poos have very good form on Orijen, they poo on a regular basis, absolutely zero (obvious) gas. I'm sure they fart from time to time but we've never noticed any since they've been on this food. Their poo does not stink to high heaven on this food, and they love the taste of Orijen (and I like the ingredients very much). More importantly, their enzyme tests always come back well within range. Sprout switched to Orijen RR from Orijen puppy just this year and is handling it well (he is a senior but was on Orijen puppy at the vet's recommendation due to his body type and activity level). His activity level has dwindled now, due to age, hence the switch. We love Orijen...but I would check your dogs' activity levels and check with your veterinarian before getting Orijen as it is quite high in protein. For some dogs it is way too high in protein (particularly those who have high bile acid test numbers and those who already have known liver issues), but for others it's the perfect food. My best advice is to find the food that works for ENZO the best Just because a certain brand works for me or someone else here at YT, doesn't mean your Enzo will tolerate it very well, as each dog is a very unique and different individual. |

| I feed Orijen, my baby is picky so I also supplement with raw...he does fine with the puppy formula. The six fish, adult and regional red kibble size is kinda big for my baby...(he's small at 3.8 pounds). Hope you find something that works for your baby.

| Thanks for all the input everyone! I will see if I can get some sample bags and go from there. Short of standing on my head while playing the violin, I struggle to get him to eat kibble consistantly

| If you have a PetValu near you, grab a sample of the Performatrin Ultra Grain-Free Small Bites. I have a picky eater & he actually likes this kibble The ingredients are excellent too. Ask the PetValu staff about it. It's their "house brand". Performatrin Ultra Grain-Free

| Yes. I'd say about 1/4 of the total meal should be the new food...so his tummy doesn't get upset. I hope he likes it!!

| We use Fromme foods. 2 of our Yorkies do the Chicken ala veg and one does the grain free surf and turf. The grainfree surf and turf has a little bit small kibble that the Chicken ala veg but it still isn't very big.
