| Am I Killing My Pets? I was up late last night and ended up reading about this diet. There is a video at the end, and he talks about some interesting things about the pet food industry. I don't want to ruin it by talking about it yet, but is this true?! OMG. I don't know if I can trust pet foods anymore. Am I killing my pets? | Wow, that's one tedious infomercial! The upshot is that he is advertising a book of recipes for home-cooked food for dogs. He mentions that there are 9 commercial dog foods that meet his criteria for canine nutrition, but the infomercial is droning on and on, and I'm not sure whether he will name them. He might have some good ideas, but he could have presented them in a less tedious manner. |

| Spoiler Alert!!!! I don't want to get anyone in trouble, so I won't post the 9 commercially available foods that meet the author's requirements for canine nutrition, but I'm happy to say that I am currently feeding Bella one of them. If you do enough googling, you can find the list--it took me about 5 minutes. |

| Googling that phrase-confidential dog food report pdf brought it right up. Thanks for finding the list for us! I was on canidae and my girl decided after a few weeks that she didn't like it! Bad GIRL!!! Now I feel guilty for not being persistent!

| IDK but dogs have eaten grocery store dogfood for years and most of them live fairly long lives. My childhood dog lived to the age of 16 years and he ate something called Red Heart canned dog food and occasional table food as I recall. Mother just bought it at the grocery store by the case. I guess only time, research and empirical evidence with tell us whether certain diets significantly prolong the lives of most dogs. Hope we do learn that better diets can help them live longer!

| Well, according to him... You won't. You aren't feeding home made.
