| Anal gland question The last couple weeks Joel has had this weird different smell coming from his bottom. He never used to have it, so does that mean he needs his anal glands expessed? I read somewhere that once it gets done it has to always get done, I was hoping to not ever get it done but what's with the smell? |

| Tibbe has had to have his expressed two or three times in his life and I did one of those first before I got him to the vet but we didn't have to keep having them done in his case. He never had the smell though - he just scooted and was taken to the vet for a check and express. It fixed the problem as the scooting stopped after each vet visit.

| My baby just had her anal glands removed. Apparently it was a structural problem that had to do with the ducts. I never noticed an odor with her-she would start acting like something was uncomfortable back there and sure enough she would be full again. Good luck!

| If I smell that weird fish smell I will give my girls a warm bath and it sometimes helps them.
