| Gucci has a bump on her tummy Gucci got spayed in October. I notice that were she had the incision done now she has a bump. At first it was very small but today when i was petting her I notice it has gotten bigger. I had asked the vet about it and she said it was scar tissue. I was wondering what you think. Im going to take her to the vet next month to get that check out. I just hope is nothing bad. She is eating, playing and acting like always. She doesn't seem to have any pain or bother when I pet her tummy. I will keep you all posted. |

| Yes, it is most likely scar tissue and as time goes on it should smooth out a lot. |

| Toto has a tiny one that I can feel underneath the skin that the vet says is nothing. It has never changed. If Gucci's changed and got larger, I believe I would certainly have it checked out. Keep us updated?

| When Bubba was 6 months old we had him neutered. He still has a little bump there. It moves around a little. My vet said the same thing about it being scar tissue. I think if you are really concerned, take her in. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Awww...poor Mom...I've heard lots of yorkies have little bumps after the surgery but you are really good to spot it and if it doesn't bother you ....it sounds like you can wait till you see your vet....I think that would be my decision if I were in your shoes - but you have to do what you feel is best for YOU and Gucci - Good luck - I have a good feeling it's just from her surgery |

| One of my cats had a small bump from her spay. It was right where the knot from her stiches was (right around the middle of her belly). I guess my vet uses some kind of internal dissolvable stiches or something, so we never had to have them removed, but her body formed a little scar tissue capsule around the knot. It mustn't have dissolved corretly.... Her body actually just rejected it and eventually pushed it out and to the surface, and then once I saw it, I just pulled it out and her bump went away. I took the kitty in to be sure it was nothing. (My vet said she was fine and it happens sometimes). I think it's a good idea to take your pup in. If it's some kind of complication, then they'll catch it.... but if it's normal, at least they can ease your fears! |

| Annie was spayed at the end of January. I'd say within a month she had healed up completely no scars and no scar tissue. Then the second week in March my husband and I were going on vaca to Italy and we had a layover in Chicago to drop her off at my parents. Well at the airport in Newark I noticed this huge lump in the location of her spay area. I was freaking out. My parents took her to a vet in Chicago. The vets there said that it was probably just a residual from her surgery and that it should go away. Well slowly over a course of a couple of weeks it did go down and away. I didn't even take her to her regular vet for confirmation cause it was going away.... Hope this helps... |

| The bump has gotten bigger Im getting very worried because the bump on her tummy has gotten bigger. You can even see it. I called her vet and we have an appt for the 27. I have a feeling that is a hernia. If anyone has information on hernias on Yorkies and the surgery I will apreciated. I want to be prepare when we visit the vet. Also If any yorkie here had a hernia repair done, I was wondering how they are doing, how much was the surgery and any other info you may have. Thank you so much. |
