| When should I switch to adult food? Rosie will be 1 on May 8th and I've had people tell me to switch her over immediately but this is my first yorkie and I'm not sure I should. She currently eats Blue Buffalo for small breeds. Any suggestions on how soon to make the switch? And tips on making it easier because she's a fussy eater? |

Mix the new food in with the old food slowly. Many people find that their dogs will pick out the new food to eat. If this happens, just watch her for any signs of tummy upset.

| I would go ahead and transition her just whenever you get near the end of your current bag of food since she's near a year old anyway Toki has never been a picky eater but when she was a pup, I would soak her kibble in hot water for a few minutes or I'd add a small amount of canned food and make it kind of soupy and mix that with her kibbles. That always seemed to help encourage her to eat, especially in the mornings. |
