| How do I get a urine sample from my small female? I took Zoey in for a comprehensive exam and the vet couldn't get a sample from her. Said she had a bladder the size of a pea, lol. She is fairly small...4.5 lbs. So I tried to catch it at home with no luck. I used a shallow ladle and tried to slip it under her when she squatted. Ha. She was horrified and decided never to go again. I exaggerate...but I just can't seem to figure a way to get it. Anyone got a foolproof method???

| I had to do the same thing years ago! Followed my girl around trying to catch it and couldn't. So vet gave me a syringe and said put her in one area with hard floors, wait until she goes and then suck it up off floor. It worked! |

| If she uses a piddle pad, turn it upside down so the plastic side is up, then when she uses it use a syringe or something like that to suck it up to take to the vet. Don't put it in the frig - I have heard it is best to be a room temp. This works every time for us. Good luck

| Thanks for the ideas, you guys! She always does her biz outside, so I hate to encourage her to go in the house, you know? However. Her previous owner used pee pads when she was a pup, until she was a year old and I got her. She's 5 now, but maybe Zo will remember? I was wishing this winter, during all the horrendous weather, that she could re-learn pee pads for emergencies. It's awful taking her out during snowstorms and such. Now seems like a good time to try a little reminder lesson, huh? This urine sample problem might work out to be an excellent thing for the future. I'll give it a try Monday, so if it works I can get the sample right to the vet. I'll let you all know how it works out. Thanks again everybody...

| I just flipped a potty pad over and my pup peed on that and I just put that into a container. It was easy when I did it but it was suggested to me by another yorkie owner!!

| Just went through this with Jovi. 2 of us took her for her walk and 1 held the leash the other used a baby bowl to catch the urine - have done it 2 times in the last 2 months. Good luck!

| I used the lid from a Tupperware or butter dish just watched for her to squat and slid it under. Works every time .
