| Using coconut oil for teeth brushing... I have read a couple of posts saying that organic coconut oil is good for teeth brushing. Do you brush with toothpaste first, and follow up with the oil, or only use the coconut oil? How long does it take for you to see results? Thanks!

| I brush first without any coconut oil because I worry that the oil might diminish some of the abrasive power of brushing. As for results, I'm not sure how to measure what effect coconut oil has. One member here brushed with coconut oil and her dog's teeth looked good. However, when the dog went for a dental, xrays revealed he needed several teeth pulled.

| I rub coconut oil on Jada and Bogie's teeth about twice a week. For anyone looking for a miracle tooth paste or holistic remedy. I think brushing is necessary and nothing replaces having routine dental cleanings. Jada's teeth never look bad, but she has lost 9 teeth during her last two dental cleanings. I hate that she is prone to bad teeth and that she has to have been in some discomfort from the teeth she has lost before having them pulled. If not for getting her dental I would never known she was having issues.

| I use coconut oil to brush Mandie's teeth. The reason I do is because I've heard it is good for her and she absolutely won't let me brush her teeth with gels/paste. She thinks she's getting a treat with the coconut oil. As for results..I don't know yet. She's only 10 months old and she will be going in April to get her baby canines pulled and a dental if needed. I figure that brushing with coconut oil only is better than not being able to brush good with a gel/paste. It's the best I can do right now so that's what I do. We'll see in April if it's even doing any good...
