| New Lyme Disease Shot... Thoughts & reactions? Our vet uses the new Lyme vaccine shot. The boys have not had it yet. They are going in on Monday because they are due for a Lyme vaccine. Has any one here had the "new" shot? Not sure how it is different but the receptionist who called today said there have been some reactions to it. Mickey always has to have a cortizone (Benadryl) shot before vaccines because of pain and swelling at site reactions. The receptionist recommended even Max get pre-medicated this time.

| Haven't had it and won't, until it's proven and been on the market for at least a year or two. Let other people's dogs be the guinea pigs for this.

| Oh. Wow. Maybe I'll just get the old Lyme vaccine! I did not know this. Just knew they said it was new. Is the old vaccine still available?

| Haven't heard of the new one. Riley will only get his Rabies. His vet says he will do titers when we go in this year. |

| Nope, I don't vaccinate my dogs annually. I follow Dr Dodd's protocol when it comes to vaccinations and since Pfizer's own studies have proven that the shots last between 7 and 15 years, the only reason for you to keep vaccinating annually is to line your vet's pockets. I find it utterly ridiculous that vets now give antihistamine and cortisone just so that they can keep vaccinating your pets. Not only are you paying for overvaccinating your pet, you are paying for extra meds to keep his system from fighting the toxins. It's disgusting that your vet recommends this protocol when he knows your dog has had reactions. My advice is to forget about new vaccines and find a new vet who follows Dr Dodds's vaccination protocol. For your dog's sake.

| We have been successful with using frontline for 13 years. Recently had to hange one dog over to revolution which I understand isn't that great for ticks. Nevertheless I'm not vaccinating for Lyme.

I have never done a Lyme vacc on either of my boys. My knowledge of this vacc is limited (the old Lyme), but anecdotal evidence seems to suggest that it does cause dogs to test positive and sometimes display symptoms.

| I cancelled their appointment today so I can do more research. I am definitely going to talk to the vet about it. She is nice and did not try to press me about the Lepto vacines on my boys. Which other shots should they not get? They only go out for walks and to go potty. I printed out Dr Dodds Vaccine Schedule to take with me next week when I take the boys in. Dr Dodds Vaccine Schedule Is this a current one? Or is there a better one.
