| Tucker will not eat any dog food! We brought Tucker home on the 15 th of Jan. and he was 12 weeks old. He is a pure joy to us! But, I am a little worried because he will not eat a bite of dog food and we have tried him on most of it, the last being Canine Cav. . He was eating a tiny amount when he came to us, he was sick and throwing up for two days and we gave him chicken and rice. He has not eaten dog food since. He eats what we eat, I spoke to his vet about this and he gave me another food to try and some powder to sprinkle on it, he would no touch it. I feed him chicken, sweet potatoes, green beans, fish, carrots whatever we are having but is he getting the vitamins he needs? He also gets dehydrated treats occasionally. He goes back to the vet in two weeks , he is doing great and very happy but I worry about the long term effects this could have. Any advice will be appreciated. |

| He should be eating a balanced diet. Commercial dog food is the mostly daily accessible. You can home cook like what you are already doing but consult an professional- Veterinary nutritionist would be best for actual recipes!

| Dog food Have you tried canned as well as kibble? It seems his digestive system is ok if he tolerates your food well. What did he eat before he came to you? When dogs change homes they can get sick and lose appetite until they are more comfortable. Perhaps you gave in too soon and fed him the chicken and rice etc, and now he is fussy and does not wish to eat dog food. I have been in the same position and thought my dog was sick, and tried numerous foods and Vet visits. But in the end he 'recovered' and ate dog food ok. Good luck, it is very concerning when they won't eat. |

| Maybe you could get some vitamin supplements for him so that he gets adequate nutrition, the vitamins and minerals he needs.
