| food recommendations Which would you choose between Blue Buffalo, Wellness, and Taste of the Wild? I'm wanting to change Chloe to something better for her and these I can get here locally. I know alot feed Canine Caviar, but I can't get that anywhere around me. I don't really want to order online. Thanks for any input.

| I also order Canine Caviar online for my boys (Chewy.com). They love it. As for the ones you listed: Wellness: Recent recalls TOTW: Processed/manufactured in Diamond Plant- a definite no for me to use Blue: Maybe but I have read bad reviews for it online. For example-185 Complaints and Reviews about Blue Buffalo Pet Foods If I had only those 3 I would probably try Wellness. But I would not be comfortable with it just because of the recent & past recalls. Just my opinions. I hate trying to find my boys a food. CC works very well for both my boys so I'm sticking to it. On our 3rd 18lb bag. They are loving Wilderness flavor.

| FYI, a little more information on the Wellness recalls. From my own research, there have been 2 recalls of Wellness foods in the last 2 years. In October 2012, a single batch of Super5 adult food was recalled due to a quality control issue of too much moisture in the dry formula, causing it to spoil after a shorter time. In May 12, Wellness recalled products made in Diamond Food's Gaston, SC plant (the salmonella factory), although all products sold under the brand tested negative. Wellness also announced in August (?) that they have severed all ties with Diamond Foods. I would have no reservations feeding a Wellness product, and it was actually my first choice. Unfortunately, my picky eater turned up his nose at it for a solid week and I gave up.

| I don't mind at all. Right now he is eating Hill's Small & Toy Breed Puppy dry, topped with a spoonful of Ideal Balance Chicken & Vegetables Dinner Puppy. I know Hill's is pretty reviled here, but he eats it, he's healthy & happy, and that's the most important thing for me.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I have been feeding mine California Natural Lamb and Rice canned and kibble. Then I read on here that most canned foods contain an ingredient Caarageenan that is really bad for our babies. After researching on YT I decided to try Weeruva canned and CN kibble. The weeruva is made in Thailand but it is human grade and the same factory that makes the human Chicken of the Sea products. My dogs LOVE it. It's higher in protein than I like but so is most canned foods. I may try the canine caviar kibble once I use up the bag I have.

| There is bad reviews for everything. Callie does well on blue and loves it we always end up back at it. Wellness and TOTW have both had recalls and TOTW is a diamond food so I wouldn't use those.

| Sheldon is also on canine caviar, he gets itchy which grains and doesn't do we'll on potatoes. He is not a big fan of the flavor although this morning he ate all his kibble, dry. Other foods to consider Natures variety ( they just had a recall on their raw food) California naturals Fromm (Sheldon loved the flavor but didn't do well on it, I think because the potatoes) Pure vita Nutrisource Nutrisca ( their chicken jerky was recalled" chicken comes from China) Good luck finding something that works for your little girl! |
