| Is this ok to do? I have been having trouble finding what brand of dry-food my dogs like. I have an 8 month old yorkie named Jake and a 1 year old yorkie named Chloe. My vet told me to mix Jake's puppy food with Chloe's adult food. I'm not really sure if it's a good thing that Jake is eating adult food and Chloe is eating puppy food But the thing is they love it and they both eat it. Should I stick with mixing the food or should I just give them plain food?

| Did he mean to mix them, as regular thing? Or to mix them, until the puppy is gradually weaned to adult food, so the two dogs are eating the same food? When ZoE was about ten months old & on puppy food, I bought a bag of adult food and mixed the two, gradually increasing the ratio of adult to puppy, so by the time she was about a year old, she was on all adult food.

| Blazer stopped eating puppy food after his first bag ran out. He kept trying to steal Buddy's ALS food so I checked out the labels- they were made by the same company and the ingredient list and percentages were almost identical! I didn't feel bad switching them to the same food after that. As long as you are feeding a quality food your pup will be just fine on the same food as your older dog.
