| Morkie Hey Everyone! This is my first post, not sure if I'm doing it right but will give it a shot. I have maltese-yorkie mix and feel as if he is too thin. I can feel every bone in his spine and every rib. He turned 1 on Jan 1st and weighs a little less then 5lbs. He was at the vet less then 4 months ago to get neuter but the vet did not say anything about his weight. Should I be worried? He doesn't eat much and nibbles throughout the day. He is currently is on Science Diet. I also have a second question. Lately he has been chewing on his front legs. He has managed to chew the hair off and sometimes even to the point were his skin is raw. Vet said it was a nervous habit. Anyone else ever have this issue? Any idea of how to stop him? Thanks in advance Brauny's Mommy |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | He might be allergic to the food he is eating? Which might explain why he doesn't each much of it. I'm not really positive, but I know there are a lot of other members here who have had similar issues ... so I know someone here will have great advice for you! I just wanted to stop and say Welcome to YT!!! Is that your little Morkie in your profile picture? If so I must say he is a real cutie!! |

| Yes, I would suggest changing his food...start with grain free. A lot of people here swear by Canine Caviar. Also you should be able to feel bone, but not see it. Welcome to YT!! Can't wait to see pictures

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome. I would try switching to a grain free food and maybe take him for a second opinion or a recheck. He is a cutie.

| My Max is a Morkie! I also would suggest a grain free food or at least one without by products and corn. Welcome to YT!

| Our Camrey is a Morkie. She is just over 5 months old and last time we were at the vet, a few weeks ago, she weighed 5 lbs. She came from the breeder with Diamond Natural Puppy Food for small breeds, but she wasn't eating it and hardly drinking water. We switched her to Blue Buffalo Life Protection Puppy Food for small breeds. She has taken to it very well and now drinks her water, too!!!
