| hills dry food, she will barely eat it The vet school gave me some hills dry food with low protein but emma will barely eat it, past day she's probably ate 6-7 bites is all. I looked in petsmart at every dog food and all was above 15% protein, which is what the vet said is her limit, guess it couldnt hurt to try to crush it up for her? i dont want to make it like dust or nothing but food chopper to strong? |

| When I have had a dog that wouldn't eat dry kibble, I soak it in boiling water, cool it and then serve it, after stirring it a bit to add smell to the air and increase the scent-factor for the dog. I also sometimes add water, microwave it, cool it and serve. These 2 things alone have always gotten even a picky eater interested.

| I just figured out the problem I think. She ate the purina pro plan just fine it was smaller chunks, these chunks are bigger but not to huge. They are just hard as rocks my very sharp knives have trouble with them. She loves the wet food though just know she likes to have little snacks now and then but struggles with it |

| You can crush it or soak it (can't leave it out if soaked though). Could mix canned with it. RC also makes a hepatic food (rx only).

It is smaller pieces of kibble...get the MINI....and RC is usually really palatable to MOST dogs...get the vet to give you a Rx for some Royal Canin L/D. And you can add a little hot water and stir it up and it ALMOST makes a gravy.... | |
