| Itchy!! Lily has been itching like crazy for a few weeks now. She is on a grain free diet and always has been. I have been giving her an oatmeal bath every other week. Been putting salmon oil on her food in the morning. I have also been putting hydrocortisone cream on the spots that seem to itch and a tiny bit of children's benedryl to sleep at night. There does not seem to be any marks or anything in the spots that she is itching. Has anyone had anything similiar? |

YT 500 Club Member | Trying using coconut oil instead of the salmom, I was giving Dolly fish oil my vet said to stop the fish oil and give coconut instead it seem to really help her, they also had be start using Dermalyte shampoo which is hypo allergenic plus it has coconut oil in it (I really love this) also use Dermapet conditioner which is wonderful. I got this at my vets but you could go on line and order it www.dermpet,com |

| More often than not, oatmeal shampoo can make itching problems worse rather than better. Salmon oil is often too rich. |

| I have read somewhere that oatmeal shampoos/baths are very rough on sensitive skin, can't remember the science behind it, but it made sense when I read it My two seem to be allergic to fish, so the fish oil might be making matters worse as well. Try coconut oil, in their food and on the skin, it's miraculous! If that doesn't help, it might be time to see a vet dermatologist.
