Senior Yorkie Talker | Help..puppy ? constipated Hi Hollee is 11wks tomorrow and I have had such a time with her and hypoglycemia & infestation of larvae which she was treated for. We seemed to turn the cornor on fri last week where she started eating her kibble herself. feeding every three hrs as she is so small 19 ounces. She has been on Royal cannin kibble & a/d soft diet & recovery soft diet. When eating her kibble we have to crush in one of the older Dachie's kibble's as she wants to go for her food all the time. I don't want her to eat it as its from the supermarket and is a good one for adult dogs. So I crush just one into her dish & that has helped getting to eat kibble. But today the last meal she ate willingly was at 1.30. Since then nothing. So at 4pm I made her honey water and syringed it..with no real effect. She also didnt want to eat. So I had to syringe her food into her. Which was a/d soft diet. But she carried on sleeping or acting lethargic. She has only had one stool today after having 5 to 6 every day since I got her. she had been put onto treatment which is finishd but the vet put her on Flagyl on Mon. Thats when her stools changed to two yesterday and firmed up to today only one? So maybe she is feeling very full as her tummy hasn't worked? I'm a bit scared to give her liquid paraffin when we have been building her bowel up due to so many stools. She was weighed at the vet on Monday and hasn't gained any weight in the two weeks I have had her even though I have fed her every three hrs. i think it was due to so many stools in a day, which were 5/6? Oh dear..I am finding it so hard to be feeding her so often and making sure she doesn't drop her glucose levels. Any ideas would be very welcome. Ave

| Definitely try the pumpkin, but if the puppy is not better in 1/2 a day or so, off to the vet for sure. Little ones can go downhill very very quickly and there is no time to wait and see.

Senior Yorkie Talker | Thank you for all your advice. The good news is she let it all out this morning and we found some here and some there. All mostly formed except the end. This is a huge break through as she has had nothing but loose stools. So I'm happy..just fussy about eating at times which I'm sure you all mostly struggle with at times. She eats her kibble for a while and then suddenly forget it! Then I have to produce/cook something else. Anyone else have this problem? Ax

| She is very young... I would try boiling some chicken and rice and feeding her. I would mix her kibble in with it to get her to eat. I wouldn't let her go without food for very long... She's too little to not be eating. I would take her to the vet at the first sign of any more issues... These little ones can go down hill fast!
