| Shots at 4weeks pissible!? Well to start off im new not only to this site but in having a precious yorkie. I call myself helping a friend out who's yorkie Just had puppies on Sept 6 only for her to neglect the precious angels. So my friend had been bottle feeding and stimulating the angels herself. I call my self helping out and ended up falling in love with one and adopted her as my own. So needless to say when I saw blood in her stool Sunday night I was hysterical and praying all day Monday she would be Ok till I get off. So I took her to the Vet to find out she has hook worms which now makes me question the mother and the siblings health. She has to take meds for five days to clear her. She is invested with it. Who knows how much longer she would have lived. I know ill have to deworm her again in a month.Well now im terrified of Everything that she could contract until here shots at 6 weeks. So want to know can I give her the 5in1 shots at 4weeks seeing that she only had mama milk for a week? I'm not sure That's long enough to have mama antibiotics. Please don't judge me for wanting to give her shots early. I Just love her as much as i love my twins and want what's best for her. Ps.....my kids have absolutely no dwellings with Misty and I don't let Misty walk on grounds. She only goes to my house or my mother who babysits her....sorry it's so lengthy. I Just want to be a Good mommie! |

| I don't think shots at 4 weeks is a good idea... But maybe someone with more knowledge will come and give you advice. So your puppy is no longer with its momma?

| No She's not. The mother did great the first week. She was bonding with them Well. Idk what happened but by the second week she didn't want anything to do with them. She wouldn't nurse them and growled when they came close. I told my friend Maybe she was stressed and needed some alone time but that didnt work either. Idk if this make sense but i think it has something to do with my friend getting their tail docked!! Plus i was always told not to touch puppies until they start walking which is when the mother start weening because you will disturb the smell and the mother will neglect/kill them.Although im confused by that now cuz i see many people touching young puppies and the mother still loves them. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | why did she only had mama's milk for a week, is she an orphan? and NO under any circumstances I would give a vaccine to a pup at 4 weeks. first shot should be at 6 weeks or later. worms are common in pups they get them from the mama if mama was not properly deworm before mating. hugs, |

By that second week she didn't want to nurse them and she would growl if they got too close.I told my friend maybe she Just stressed and need some alone time but that didn't work. Idk if this is crazy or not but I think it has something to do with them getting their tails docked. I was always told not to touch a puppy until the mother is done nursing and they are starting on dog food. But I'm not so sure anymore seeing that many people touch newborn puppies and the mother still love them. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | ok, sometimes that behavior is due to a lack of calcium in the mom's diet, that is why Calcium supplement is SO important during nursing for a mom, inexperience breeders don't know about that and take it as newborn rejection. keep up with the puppy, at 4 weeks, he needs a mix of goat's milk, canned soft puppy food mixed in and by 6 weeks, you can add grinded puppy kibble to the mix, she should be eating this until about 10 weeks, when the slowly switch to dry puppy kibble can be done. best of luck to you.. |

| Any specific canned dog food and do I hand feed it to her? I Just got her to start latching on the nipple of the bottle. She knows how to lap up but only in my hands. She won't do it in a bowl. I'm sorry if I'm asking too many questions. I'm Just really lost and want to do right. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | no problem glad you are asking all the questions, ok, yes I would hand feeder at 4 weeks, get a good quality puppy food, I am using Wellness puppy for my orphan, he is now 16 weeks today. go buy a few cans of Goat's milk in walmart, mix a can of the milk with a can of spring water mix in about a teaspoon of puppy food and make it luke warm, and feed it to her, I teach my puppies to eat by putting my finger in the bowl and letting them lick it, then I put my finger in the bowl and move it, and they learn to lick from the bowl.. you can pm me any specific questions you have I am glad to help you. hugs, |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | oh ok, mix about 3 onz of the milk mix with the teaspoon of the puppy food and feed her about 5 times a day, breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner and before bed.. specially before bed.. also get a tube of nutrical puppy and give her a pea size portion before bed , this will keep her sugar levels good thru the night.. hugs, |

| [QUOTE=Butterflyy;4022724]. So want to know can I give her the 5in1 shots at 4weeks seeing that she only had mama milk for a week? I'm not sure That's long enough to have mama antibiotics. " No "5 in 1" vaccinations this early! The ONLY vaccine you can give that baby is NeoPar. That is for parvo....my females get a dose before they are bred, they pass that super immunity against Parvo onto the babies, and you can repeat the NeoPar in the puppies actually as early as 3 weeks, but I get a little nervous doing that...I wait until they are 4 weeks old, then it holds them super protected against parvo until you can start their puppy shots. |

| Ok. So neopar is safe. Ok. I'll give that to her on her birthday nxt month. And then the 5in1 two weeks later when she is 6wks? Is that correct? |
