| Hair Ball?! My Oscar is coughing like he has a hairball. He likes to like his paws (it's not a rash, we've already checked). Any good recommendations on how to get rid of this hairball?

hey , my oscar says hi too. i have heard of dogs getting hairballs before. you could try a dab of butter, maybe 1/4 tsp. put it on your finger and let him lick it off. may grease his intestinal tract and get rid of the hairball. also the coughing may not be caused by a hairball. yorkies cough for other reasons. if the coughing persists a vet check would be a good idea

| It could be reverse sneezing or collasped trachea either way it needs to be checked by a vet. I dont believe its a hairball because yorkies dont shed but thats just my opinon

yes, i agree that yorkies dont shed so they would not get a typical hairball like a cat . However if you have a yorkie that likes to lick carpets and plush toys and such it is possible for the hair and fiber to accumulate and cause a hairball. I cant recall where but i heard of a yorkie that had that happen and almost died.
