| Best puppy dog So I got almost a 4 month old yorkie puppy and I've been wanting to change his' puppy food for a while now. I'm currently feeding him IAMS puppy food which I know I is bad. So I was going to switch over to BB but then I read that their food once have too much vitamin D and cuz dogs to die so I'm not will to take that chance with Tubbiers (My kid named him). Then I've read that Wellness is really good but they don't have puppy brands so I thought about some other brands but I couldnt narrow it down. Now I'm wondering what brand should I feed my yorkie. Same thing with wet dog food and I trashed the cheap dog food from Walmart, kept dry puppy food until we get another brand and slowly change. Suggestions please? Ty |

| I like Royal Canine puppy food it's really digestible and made in small kibbles for their tiny little mouths. All my babies love this stuff even my finicky eaters. When he gets older you can even put him on the Royal Canine for Yorkshire Teriers. |

| Fromm is one of my favorites. Their Gold line has a puppy formula but you can also give your pup any of the grain-free varieties which have almost identical protein/fat amounts and Calcium to phosphorus ratios. I switched Toki to the grain-free Fromm (she is currently on a bag of the grain-free Game Bird) around 6 months and she's been doing so well on it! Toki also did really well on the Blue Buffalo for puppies, especially their wilderness line. Acana/Orijen are also excellent. |

| Almost all dog food company's have had recalls or will have just like many many human foods get recalled. Its more about how they handle the recall. Callie has been on Blue Buffalo Wilderness for almost a year and its the only food she seems to really like.

I home cook for Harry, but RC's Harry's dried food of choice....believe me, I've tried most.... But that's 'over here'. I managed to get hold of some Orijen and Acana, but he still prefers RC....his poops are great, too! Sally + Harry x

| Mine eat FROMM's Chicken a la Veg as their kibble. Small company with their own plant. Been making dog food since WW2 and never had a recall. Many of the food is all stages but they also have puppy as well. Mine all love it Feed what works best for you and your pet

| I home cook for my girls. With all the recalls I feel safer doing the home cooking. I do leave dry food down for snacks. My girls have tried BB Basics turkey and potato. They also have tried Royal Canin. They have done fine on both and seem to like both. Well except for the little brown/black pieces in BB. Mikki will pick out all of them and leave them all over the house.

| I've always used Blue Buffalo as it has worked best for my dogs. My female adult has been eating their Wilderness formulas for over two years, but ever since a puppy was brought into our house, she's just not quite used to it yet and has started to become picky about her food again. I picked up a bag of Fromm today for her because she needed to eat something and she ended up eating both meals with no problem. I'll probably offer her Wilderness again at some point as there's still about half a bag left. My puppy is currently on Blue Buffalo Puppy Lamb & Oatmeal and is thriving on it. He would probably eat until he would pop so I plan on keeping him on Blue as long as he continues to do well. I am rotating proteins after every bag as I've always been a fan of offering a variety. |

| Wellness gave my yorkie the ruins, its good dog food just didnt agree with him. I'm currently feeding grain free surf and turf fromm dog food, I recently ordered Fromm Four-Star Nutritionals Grain Free Game Bird Recipe Dog Food, I really do like the fromm dog food and Solid Gold has wee bits for puppies I also feed that to sonic when he was little. |

| Thank you for the info. I was also wondering what's a good puppy treat, because my wife is starting to complain about the puppy being dumb and can't do anything. Which made my daughter cry........ So I would like to know what kind of treats should I give him instead of Pupperuni. I heard that Wellness and BB both have treats for puppy's so I would like some recommendations. ^w^ Only the best for my pup. (Animal Lover!!) |

For treats, I like to use little pieces of frozen green beans and other little veggies. Also I use those sample bags you can get of premium dog kibble and use those kibbles as treats. I like the Blue Buffalo Stix and Bits as well...I use very, very little pieces and even break the BB Bits up into 4 or 5 parts. Toki also will do anything for BB Wilderness trail treats (I guess I should just say that Toki's a fan of almost any kind of soft BB treat)! Good luck with training your pup! You might even sign your daughter and and puppy up for an obedience class...it will be a great opportunity for them to strengthen their bond and your pup will learn some basic commands and tricks too
