| Has your vet checked out what might be causing the itchiness? I would start there. We had some itchy, dry skin going on so added coconut oil, mixture of Fromm surf & turf and Fromm duck. No more itchies. I think getting away from grains helped. The coconut oil has really helped the coat also. There are lots of know, edgable folks on this site to help you out.

| My Keyra loves Cesar and Fromm Gold. The fromm is really good cuz it comes in different flavors so you can change it up so your yorkie doesn't get bored. Mine is on fromm gold puppy (chicken duck and eggs). The ingredients list is really great. Ask some pet stores if they have samples. The store I buy mine give out small sealed sample bags of each flavor so you can try it out on your dog and see what they like. I think its great and Cesar she goes nuts for. Lol what can I do none the less my Keyra gets lots of different things. I give her apples, pears, carrots she loves to death and watermelon and I buy good healthy treats that carry a lot of vitamins that will help her so I make up for what she doesn't get at one time Hope I could help but I think you can ask for samples of fromm and see how it works. Ask for 4 star and 5 star fromm

| Corn and wheat are common allergens but even if the itchiness isn't from the food, your dog can only improve from getting a higher quality food. I feed Toki raw (Natures Variety, Stella & chewys) in the morning and grain-free Fromm at night. Toki's had the salmon a la veg, the grain free beef frittata and the grain free gamebird. She has done well on them! Fromm no longer sends you samples but they send samples to pet stores so find a local Fromm retailer and request samples from them. If you email Fromm, they will send you a $5 coupon. If it turns out your dog has a food and not environmental allergy, you'll probably want a limited ingredient food of some kind (like acana's singles line or blue buffalo basics) |

| You can get coconut oil from gnc (nutiva is popular). It needs to be cold pressed extra virgin coconut oil. We use the coco therapy coconut oil. We pay 12.99 for a 4 lb bag of grain-free Fromm or 5 lb grain-inclusive Fromm. You can check their website for your nearest retailer. Last edited by tokipoki; 07-25-2012 at 05:53 PM. |

| I like the Nutro Natural small bites Lamb and Rice. It is also helpful with allergies. Although I must admit I soften it and add Roasted Chicken! The problem I am having is that they are gaining too much weight and getting spoiled on the chicken. |

| Both of my dogs eat Blue Buffalo. Sasha eats the Wilderness varieties and Noah is currently eating the Puppy varieties. I like to rotate protein sources after every bag to keep them interested. Plus, I'm a personal believer that it does help them a lot in the long run. |

| My girls eat Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance Duck and Potato Small Breed Bites. WHEW that is a mouthful They have several Grain Free varieties (they call them Limited Ingredient Diets). The Duck and Potato is the only one I've found in the smaller bites, but the regular size bites are okay too because they are flat, so not hard to chew for most doggies. I get the small bites because my Luna has a pretty bad overbite, and was having a hard time with the larger pieces. Good luck!!!!

| I feed all three of my Yorkies, Blue Buffalo Senior. It has ZERO grain. Only meat, fruit and veggies. They have coats of silk and never scratch. You can get it at any Pet Store. My Yorkies also get 1 tablespoon of yogurt daily.

| I was mixing boiled chicken with the girl's kibble too. They too were gaining to much weight. Now we feed them Blue Buffalo Dry, with one little spoon of Blue Buffalo canned. They are losing weight, and they have not had one tummy episode.

| We have fed Blue Buffalo to all of the dogs in our family (2 yorkies and a beagle) and had great results with it! My sister's senior Yorkie just switched to Acana but had been on the regular Wilderness up until last week (I think now she gets a mix of the 2). Toki also loves the BB Stix, Bits and the Wilderness Trail Treats. |
