| Watch the peanut butter. It's high in fat and yorkies are prone to digestive issues including pancreatitis. I don't make my own treats but I feed raw veggies to the dogs such as carrots, zucchini, broccoli, bell peppers, green beans. They are low in calories and they really like them. I just give small bits.

| I make peanut butter balls for the girls. I use old fashion peanut butter, powdered milk, ground flax seed (I buy whole flax seed and put in my coffee grinder. It's less expensive this way than buying it already ground). and make small balls then roll them in crushed cereal, like total, put them on a cookie sheet, freeze, then put them in a freezer zip-lock bag.

| Good afternoon! Might be worth you all having a look in the 'Yorkie Health and Diet' section. There's a sticky at the top 'Homemade Yorkie Recipes (Food and Treats)....some lovely ones on there, just keep an eye on the pups age appropriate-ness (if that makes sense!) Sally + Harry x |

| There are all kind of ideas for homemade foods and treats here: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...od-treats.html I make dried sweet potato treats for Gracie. She loves berries and has been having a wonderful time getting some everyday during our walks. The wild black raspberries have been on the bushes for a couple of weeks. She also loves blue berries. When I buy her treats I buy Stella & Chewy's all meat treats. I don't feed a lot of treats but only all natural ones when I do. I have used all natural peanut butter when mixing it with other ingredients. Always use treats with moderation. |
