| Yorkie has gone off his food! Hi all! Riley has recently (the past week) been rejecting his food, he's still hungry however as he eats his treats. When I say he has gone off his food this is what I mean - when I announce to him that he's getting fed he gets excited as per usual, but once I plate it up and present it to him he sniffs it and turns away. he does eventually eat it out of pure hunger I presume, I just don't understand what's made him go off it as he used to love it and gobble it all down. I have even started putting a small amount of gravy over the top, but still he is not eating! Note: His food is dry kibble, made with all.natural ingredients! Any help/advice would be great

if he ate it before, he is probably just holding out for something better. when we starting adding things and putting treats on our dogs food they can develop a very picky appetite. hold off on the treats and the gravy. just put a little hot water on his food. put the dish down and walk away.. hope this helps

| I would cut out the tasty treats to encourage him to eat his kibble. Maybe even try to use his kibble as treats. How long has he been on this current food? Did anything different change that would make it less appealing to him?? |

| so I cut out on treats yesterday and he still didn't want his food. I put hot water on it and it just didn't make a difference do they stop getting excited at their food at a certain age? he's been on this natural food for about 4 months now, and only thing that I can think of was last week he went for a sleepover at my boyfriends house. He has an old english sheepdog who eats the food that Riley used to eat (tasty food but only because its filled with junk) and apparently he kept stealing the big dogs food...could that be it?

yeah, that could be it. Dogs like the some of the less quality foods better because of all the artificial flavors and stuff. Does his current food come in a can formula? Maybe you could mix a tbs in with his dry. When dogs get picky about their food it is hard to get them back on track. I am not sure what type of food you have there. You may have to try a differnt brand . Good luck

And what's the name of the food he was stealing? It's just that I've tried quite a few for our Harry, so might be able to give you some pointers as I'm from the UK too Sally + Harry x
