| I do a few things: daily I use a flea comb to comb the hair growing from the canal and around that area (I don't pluck all of the hair out of the ear canal). This helps remove any wax or debris. I use a good cleaning solution that has a drying agent to clean deeper down and dry up any unwanted moisture. Ideally this should be used after each bath or swimming, or once a week. Pour a little in the ear, massage the back of the ear, and then let your doggy shake her head. I also use ear cleaning wipes to clean the outer flaps and visible areas.

| Every time they get wet the ears need to be cleaned. I use epi otic which drys out any water left in the ears. I put a little in, massage the ear, let her shake her head, then wipe the areas I can see.

| I never clean Jackson's ears... lol. Bad? Maybe... I've never found I needed to. And he swims in a pool at least 3 days a week and gets bathed once a week or so.

| My vet said its best to do whenever they get wet. I clean mine when I get out of the pool or shower I cannot stand water in my ears but I have a long history of ear infections.

| *shrugs* ah well, I probably should... but we've had almost 4 years with no issues so I'm not gonna mess up anything... hah. I don't clean my own either when I get out of a pool or shower (well I mean I use q-tips after the shower, but not after the pool).

| Callie also has floppy ears so the vet might think that would make her more susceptible to ear infections not sure although she has only ever had one and it was when she was a puppy.
