| Anybody have babies with allergies? Just wondering if Yorkies are prone to allergies like "white dogs" seem to be? One of my Bichons suffers terribly with skin allergies!

Yorkie Yakker | yes, mine does, she has to soak in prescription shampoo when she breaks out, and starts chomping on her feet. She is mostly allergic to fleas.

| I had never heard the "white dog" theory before- but I have a softcoated wheaten Terrier (she is almost white)with awful allergies. She is 12 now and a few years ago we started working on her immune system with probiotics and enzymes. What a big difference it has made! I homecooked for 6 months while we got her rebalanced and now she is on a grainfree, fish based food. Guess the yorkies have benefitted , they have never been itchy or sick! |

| Yes Uni does as well. Flea allergy and environmental allergies that we can never get rid of. We just went for a 2nd trip to the vet this summer bc of a flea outbreak and got her on Comfortis, but now we have the pollen etc to deal with. Vet put her on a nild steroid to get her through the worst of the season then get her off them. She have really sensitive skin and thin hair too, so she scratches herself raw. She's doing much better on the meds now, thank goodness. She's also on grainfree fish based food. Changing her diet didn't do much to help the allergies. I am beginning to think she never had a food allergy to begin with.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | One of mine has bad allergies that are kept under control with Atopica. She is the first of 7 yorkies I've had over the years that had allergies.
