| Food amount... For all of you that have 4-5 pounders... I just recently switched Peanut to Acana Duck and Pear, he was on the Ranchland, while he was on the Ranchland I was feeding him 1/3 of a cup a day, it would take him about a day 1/2 to finish it... Well since he has been on the Duck and Pear he has been eating more- In the morning I give him his 1/3 of a cup, by the evening his bowl his empty! I then think well I dont want him to starve... so I put 1/4 back in is bowl, he will then take a couple more bites, maybe leave 2 kibbles in there- How much should I be feeding,? I dont want to overfeed ( trying to get him to shed a couple pounds) but I dont want him to be hungry either I called Acana and they told me for his weight and activity he should be at 1/3 of a cup- How much do you all feed your babies?

well oscar is 7 lbs but small & compact. He is eating acana pacifica and i give him a little over 1/2 cup per day. He seems satisfied with that. I tried giving him 3/4 cup but he got soft poo, guess it was too much. He is doing good on the 1/2 cup | |

| Hm ok, so a 1/3 of a cup sounds right for Pnuts weight- Maybe I am just stressing about it- I just hate thinking he is hungry or something.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Ralphie is about 4lbs 10 ounces and Joey is 5 1/2 pounds both eat about 1/3 of a cup of food a day, plus Joey gets some green beans. They also get a little fresh chicken occasionally, about 1 tablespoon. If he starts losing weight you should feed him more. He may just really love the new food.

| My vet told me when she switched from the Iams Proactive stuff to the Royal Canin GI & then to the Hill's GI I/D that I probably would be surprised at how little of the Hill's Tibbe would eat in comparison to his Iams. She is right. I have small hands & take out only what I can grab in my fist for each meal & that's all he eats each meal, except a few of the pieces during the day that I use for treats. He hasn't lost an ounce in fact he's gained weight since he's been sick, weighing in Wednesday at 5.8 oz. I would imagine he gets about 3 tablespoons of the kibble morning & the same at night & more if he asks for it during the day, which he usually doesn't. His stool 1/3 smaller than before. He was not happy with Royal Canin but is really warming to his Hill's GI I/D.
