| Buddy wont drink!! Hi everyone, Buddy is 12 weeks old and iv had him for 2 weeks. However, he wont drink water for me? I soak his nuts in water and sometimes he drinks the excess water off it but thats it.... What should i do? |

| go to the vet to be sure he doenst have something going on hes very young best to be safe than sorry.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | When you say that you soak his nuts, does that mean you soak his kibble? That may be enough to fulfill his water needs. Just keep water around him all of the time and look for the signs of dehydration. My guess is your dog is drinking when you’re not looking. Quote:

| as in I soak his food that he eats 3 times a day, they are science plan nuts that i buy here in ireland. he doesnt seem to like eating them dry yet. so any excess water he drinks but that is it. He doesnt drink from his water dish. is there anything else i could give him? no signs of dehydration |

| thats true i supppose as it does soak up a lot of water, i usually let it soak over night. We have been to the vet twice since i got him and he has said hes perfectly fine although i forgot to mention to him about the water |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I really wouldn't worry about it. Keep an eye on signs of dehydration. Dogs don't sweat like humans do, and lose water through breathing. If your air is humid, they don't need as much water as a dog living in a dry climate.
