| Sophia's yearly checkup is coming up! I have been getting postcards in the mail about Sophia's rabies and DHPP(spelling?) booster. So, I need to schedule a yearly checkup to make sure everything is going good and get the needed boosters (obviously I won't do both boosters in the same day). What tests should I expect/ask them to do?!

well two test i know of that you should have done every year is a fecal test to check for internal parasites and a SNAP 3Dx Test which test dogs for three vector-borne diseases at once: Lyme disease, ehrlichiosis and heartworm | |

| How old is Sophia? If she's over a year old, she doesn't need DHPP boosters. AAHA protocol is puppy vaccs, then one year old booster, then every 3 years, but even that is, IMO, too much. Check out Dr. Dodd's vaccine protocol. But, I'd definitely do bloodwork, heartworm/lyme test yearly.

She had a head to toe full physical check up, body, feet, joints, mouth/teeth, ears, eyes, skin. She had heartworm test, blood tests, stool test, microchip check. Lengthy discussion of any concerns/questions I had....go armed with a list of any questions you have so you don't forget when you're there...I typed mine into my phone as I thought of them before the appointment & we went over each thing. We broke up shots too, so it was just the DHPP booster and then we went back 4 weeks later for her rabies shot. Each shot was a 3 year shot, so she'll just have checkup & tests next year. Hope Sophia's check up goes well . Be sure to come back & let us know how it went.

| YAAAAY!!!! I can't believe Riley's check-up is coming up in about 3-months. He won't have to have Rabies... but I do Bordetella and DC requires a yearly Distemper vaccine. |

Are you sure it's yearly, and not every 3 years like Rabies? All this says is: DC Consolidated Dog Laws/ Dog Bite Quote:
