| How much canned food to give Eevee recently vomited 3 meals in a row, so I took her to the vet who checked for an obstruction (none), gave her anti-nausea medicine, and prescription canned food. He also told me she would eat 1-1 1/2 cans of that food a day! They are 13 ounce cans. That means she would be eating 13-20 ounces of food a day! She weighs 4.7 pounds and is 7 months. I really like my vet and don't want to doubt him, but this sounds crazy. She REALLY likes this food and would keep eating it until she burst. So I don't want to give her that much if she'll eat herself sick and doesn't really need it. If you feed canned food, how much do you give your Yorkie, and what is their body weight? I'm trying to find out if this is a normal amount for her size. |

| I have a 7 lb yorkie who eats 1/4 cup of canned Purina EN twice/day....total of 1/2 cup/day. Sometimes you just have to use trial and error...some need more and some less.

| Do you know the calorie content of the canned food? That seems like a lot even for puppies that can need twice the calories an adult the same weight would eat! I'd listen to your vet but maybe stick with the lower end of the recommended amounts he gave you just to see how your puppy does with it. 13 ounces seems like such a large volume of food for a small pup to eat! I'm sure the vet has recommended the amount based on the food that will provide your pup with the adequate nutrition though. |

| Sasha gets an 1/8 cup twice a day with 1 spoonful of canned mixed in, just enough to coat the dry food. She's about 7-8lbs. and 4 years old. |
