Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | nose spot Just curious if anyone has experiance this. See inside her right nostril the pink spot? looks white with flash of camera. I see with the flash deep inside her nose is pink too but this pink spot on the nostril was not there before. I noticed it about a week ago. i touch it and it does not bother her. Does it look like just a pigment thing or freckle maybe? I know we all get age spots as we get older but is that the case with dogs? Any ideas?

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Hmmm...good question. Is her nose running at all and/or are the pollens bothering her? I know dogs' pigment can change a bit for various reasons, but I'm not sure about inside the nostril.

Lovin' 2 Girls Donating Member | What are your dog's water and food bowls made of? Plastic can cause a pink spotting of the nose: Physical ailments and medical conditions may also cause a dog’s nose to fade from black to pink. Sometimes, the dog will lose pigment due to an illness or trauma, and then recover the pigment once healed. If your dog’s nose is scraped or suffers abrasion, it will usually turn pink as it heals, then to black once the scabs are gone. Contactdermatitis can also cause loss of pigmentation in the nose. Certain dogs are sensitive to plastics in food dishes, and the continual irritation will cause the nose to turn pink; the lips will also become inflamed. Switching to stainless steel food and water bowls will eliminate the possibility that your dog is suffering from contact dermatitis.

| My second Yorkie had a spot too, nothing ever came of it. I'd have the vet check it the next time she is seen, just to be sure it's not a medical issue...
