| Acana light & fit Does anyone feed acana light and fit? I seen it on their website today, and i am thinking about trying it for my yorkie. He is in no way overweight. But he is eating acana wild prarie, and i used to feed him 1/4 of a cup twice daily, and he is gaining weight on this amount so i am cutting it back, but it seems like too small of an amount cause he is always hungary. And it seems like its gone before he even gets started. it has 17% fat, and the light and fit has 10% fat so i am thinking it would work better for him, so he could eat his normal amount and not gain weight, since i do not want him to be fat He is 5 years old, and not extremely active, loves loves loves food. His perfect weight is 7 lbs Anyway like i said i dont need help getting him to lose weight, just really wondering if anyone else has tried this food? |

hi , i have never fed the light one to my dog but if you just need an opinion i dont see how would hurt if you fed the light formula to your dog. Just feed him the same amount you are feeding him now see how he does and adjust accordingly | |

| I love Acana - I think their Classic formulas are great but unfortunately, you can't get them in the USA (are you in Canada?) The only ones available in the US are chicken & burbank potato, and then the Singles line (Duck & Pear and Lamb & Apple). Jackson does fantastic on the Singles line. It's bit less protein and a tad less fat than the grain-frees, but it still has the same amount of calories. How many calories does Light & Fit have? FWIW, 1/2 cup of food is probably fine for him. Just because he eats it fast, doesn't mean he needs more! lol. Jackson eats 2/3 cup of food per day and he's 16lbs and very active. I will up it to 3/4 if he's had a lot of exercise for the day or seems super hungry, and just keep an eye on his body condition.
