| VARL allergy testing I will be making an appointment for the VARL allergy testing for Latte tomorrow. The vet's going to let me know what the cost is, and I will bite the bullet and get something done! I am (I sure hope) finally going to know what the heck she's allergic to! Any encouraging words on this testing are appreciated! |

| It is a simple blood test. You will wait about two weeks for results (give or take a few days). My dr. gave me a copy of the results and then a serum is developed. You will be given a schedule of administration of serum injections. Your vet will teach you how to administer the injections, it is truly simple and Miss Mini doesn't mind at all, she sees the syringe and starts begging for her shot cuz she knows a nice treat is coming. The initial schedule is a bit monotonous but after a period of time you will be down to administering every 2-3 weeks, depending on her degree of allergies. Miss Mini gets an injection every 2 weeks. I was amazed at what she was allergic to. BTW I had her tested 2ce (long story) and by two seperate drs. results were the same both times. Good Luck and I hope it works as well for you as it has for us!
