| Acana is Oijen's sister company. And no, it's not a Diamond product. I liked Acana, when Gizmo was eating Kibble, we did the Acana Pacifica and he loved it.

| Mine love Acana, but I've never tried Fromm so I have no opinion on that one. They are both good brands, if you have a choice and can get either one easily, I would test both to see how well they liked and tolerated them.

| One of Riley's first foods was Orijen puppy. It was a teeny bit too rich for him but then I switched him to Acana for a long time and he did really well with it. I was looking for something with less calories/cup and put him on TOTW for 4-months, but then he would not eat it unless it had wet chicken in it. So I recently switched him to FROMM chicken a la veg and Pork & applesauce. Well, he ended up having an allergic reaction to the grains in the FROMM, so we are now back on Acana. I know FROMM has some grain free formulas too that people Love. I Love the company. I wish I had never switched him off of Acana.... right now we are doing Acana/Pacifica. I Love the company and the food and we will not be switching for a long long time. |

| I tried Zhoie on Acana before we ended up going to TOTW. She seemed to like it, but I couldn't get her stool to not be so hard, she really strained to go. I didn't know if it was from the higher protein or what. So, I went on the search for lower protein and ended up with TOTW, which she eat and loved for so long. But after the recall, we won't be doing anything related to Diamond again. She is on FROMM now, the Salmon Tunalini and seems to love it. So far so good

| Cali eats mostly Petcurean GO & NOW , but she love Fromm Surf & Turf grain free for treats and a change.

| I am new but will tell you my observations about Acana Vs. Fromm. The only Fromm product I have tried is the Game Bird Grain Free. The size of the Fromm kibble was small and easy for my small Yorkie to chew. The Acana kibble is much larger, but she manages to chew it anyway. I guess it would depend on your dog's chewing ability, or if she has a preference as to the size of the kibble. I love that Acana uses free-range ingredients. I'm not sure if the Fromm ingredients in the game bird recipe (duck, turkey, quail & pheasant) are free-range or not. I think Acana makes a kibble for small dogs, but last I heard it was only available in Canada. Bottom line is my dog likes both. Last edited by Nanette; 10-10-2012 at 01:27 PM. |

| I use to LOVE ACANA. My dog was on that food for about 2 years, almost 3! He did great on it. The kibble was big, too big for him. I had to cut it in half! He was doing so good on the food I didn’t mind. Then Acana decided to change their formula! Peanut started itching like crazy and getting these little red bumps. I took him off, now we are on Canine Caviar and he is doing great!! The kibble is a perfect size for his little mouth to chew!! I am very happy with CC.

| Correction to my previous message~It looks like Acana does sell their small breed food in the U.S. I think it said it had oatmeal in it. |

| Now.... I would pick Fromm over Acana, for sure. I used to feel differently. My dog always did well on Acana for sure, but Champion is irking me lately for some reason. Just a few things I've read. I still don't think it's a bad food, but was irritated with formula change.

| The only foods they sell in US from their Classics line are Chicken & Burbank Potato, Lamb & Okagan Apple, and Duck & Bartlett Pear.
