| male tesicles I had bought a 5 year old yorkie male about three years ago now he is almost 8 he is very healthy overall but the problem is only one of his testicles have decended. The vet said that he can get cancer but now a days anything and everthing can give you cancer so what would the difference be. I love my sweety but i find it would be more crule taking his tesicles t such an old age considering he is veryy calm i dont want to make him calmer.. |

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | I had my male neutered at the age of 8 1/2. He was always very mellow the only regret about having it done is the weight gain. He put on so much weight (6lbs.) in the first year and a half, that I am fearful of the effect it is having on his tiny frame. I would do some research on the topic and make an informed decision. Weigh the pros and cons, but by all means do what is best for your pup.

| I would highly suggest getting him neutered. Cryptorchidism is extremely serious because he is abnormally percentage rate for cancer. |

| I just had my foster neutered yesterday and he had an undecended testicle. He is in more pain than a regular neuter, but it's what's best for him. He is also an older guy. While I don't think taking a dog's testes with neuter being cruel, I do think keeping them intact so to always try to find females i n heat and not being able to breed is. And in no way do I condone breeding dogs just for the sake of it. Breeding should be taken very seriously, with only the best specimens of the breed to do so, and the rest should be spayed or neutered for the sake of the pet overpopulation.
