| Need Suggestions Mikki seems to constantly have issues with going to the bathroom. It is like she is having to try to hard to have a bowel movement. I know adding fiber helps because pumpkin does the trick. But I only give to her when she is constipated. Do I need to change foods? Or is it ok to add something to her meals to increase fiber? Any help appreciated.

| oh i would definitely speak your vet on this one. adding fiber to the diet is very tricky. too much or not enough is never a good thing. |

| Will Mikki eat green beans? You might add a few of those to her meals. IDK if it would help, but my two eat green beans on their evening meal and that is all they get for treats except for one Natural Balance LIT bone occasionally. I would ask my vet too just to be sure.

| I know you home cook... so maybe her "recipe" needs to be adjusted. I would talk to either Cathy or a pet nutritionist. What supplement do you use? The supplement I use has a nutritionist that you can email and they can recommend recipes. I now feed half kibble (dick van pattens' natural balance) and home cook. That works for me Good luck

| I would give her a bit of canned pumpkin with every meal. Some dogs, like some people, just need more fiber in their every day diet. Also look at increasing the moisture content in her food.

| That is what I was thinking but didn't know if it was ok to do or not. Maybe need to try the BB after all. Don't know if it is her food causing her trouble or not.

| There shouldn't be any issue with swapping out a little of her sweet potato with canned pumpkin but you could always shoot Dr Remillard a quick email to be sure.

| Why is she on both? Did Dr. Remillard suggest doing that? Normally I think they are on one or the other...not both.

| No Remillard didn't suggest it. She just gets hungry and I give her the dry kibble. For a little girl she is a big eater. She seems to like the "crunch". Mikki don't have a special need. I could go either home cooking or kibble. Rosie don't get the dry, she is only on the home cooking.

i do both because the two boys need the extra calories--they eat a lot morre then Remy. It also makes me feel better that they are getting all the nutrients they need-- even though I am sure they are with the recipe and the balance it. The volume of food I would have to cook is a bit overwhelming to me so I "balance" it with kibble. I did research to be sure I am getting a high quality kibble. I works for me

| I buy a bag of frozen greenbeans and run a few under warm water and cut them up into both if Riley's meals. |
