| Yorkie sounds as if she is choking!!! My Yorkie is 3 months old and sometimes specially at night she keep making a strange cough noise as if she was trying to clear her throat, like she has a hair ball or something. what is that? Is that normal? She go to the Vet this week for another vaccination, but I wanted to ask if any of you experience this. |

| Could be from a fuzzy blanket! Also don't use a collar since these guys have such delicate trachea's. My now six month old little girl went thru the coughing about once a day due to her nose always on the floor and going around sniffing like a vacuum. She rarely does that now and the cough has stopped.

| I would ask your vet about this before you get the next vaccination given on your vet visit this week. A couple of things come to mind - allergies, collapsing trachea, kennel cough, tracheitis (an inflamed/infected trachea)... I would ask to have it evaluated. If there is an inflammation/infection going on, they will want to wait on the vaccine.

| Could it be reverse sneeze? If so, it is pretty harmless. Here is a link about it: 01 Reverse Sneezing (Pharyngeal Gag Reflex) - VeterinaryPartner.com - a VIN company!

| If you have a camcorder or a phone that videos, it would be a good idea to video one of the episodes to take w you for your appt. It's easier to see what it is if you can actually see what they are doing when they are doing it. When our Gidget had kennel cough we took a video in of one of her "hacking spells". LJ's right; it could be something as simple as a reversed sneeze, but I would run it by the vet - I'm a better safe than sorry person.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Also just a thought. Was the Bordella vaccine given up the nose? Or was there an injection. Some yorkies do not do well with the up the nose spray for the vaccine. A thought for the future.
